Itinerary Quick Look
Day 1 – Imperial Beijing & Old Hutong Life
Morning:
Start at Tiananmen Square, then enter the Forbidden City for an in-depth walking tour through major halls and quieter courtyards.
Climb Jingshan Park for a panoramic city view — a perfect perspective over the red rooftops.
Lunch (not included):
We recommend local Beijing favorites such as zhajiangmian (noodles with soybean paste) and handmade dumplings at a trusted neighborhood restaurant.
Afternoon:
Explore the historic Drum Tower hutong area, where narrow alleyways reveal everyday Beijing life beyond the monuments.
Day 2 – Jinshanling Great Wall Hiking Experience
Morning departure (around 8:00–9:00 AM):
Drive to Jinshanling Great Wall, one of the best-preserved and least crowded sections near Beijing.
Enjoy a scenic, moderate-to-easy hike along restored and original watchtowers. The trail is manageable for most active travelers. We do not recommend taking the cable car — hiking allows you to fully experience the dramatic mountain views and authentic wall structure.
Lunch (not included):
Dining options near Jinshanling are limited. We recommend a local farmhouse restaurant or a small town eatery for simple, fresh northern Chinese dishes.
Return to Beijing in the afternoon.
Day 3 – Temple of Heaven & Summer Palace
Morning:
Visit the Temple of Heaven, including the full combined ticket access (Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, Echo Wall, Circular Mound Altar, and more). Watch locals practicing tai chi and traditional activities in the surrounding park.
Lunch (not included):
We suggest trying Beijing roast duck at a reputable local restaurant for an authentic culinary experience.
Afternoon:
Explore the Summer Palace, including the Long Corridor, Kunming Lake area, and Longevity Hill. Your combined ticket allows access to key garden sections for a complete visit.
Return to your hotel comfortably at the end of the day.
